p>Job Overview: As a member of the health care team, the Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist, CDCES, will be responsible for diabetes education, care of patients and families, including new onset and established diabetes, in children, adolescents, and young adults, in the inpatient and or outpatient settings, individually and in group format.
Evaluate achievement of learning goals and assist patients and families with making decisions about diabetes self-care including meal planning, carbohydrate counting, planning for exercise, daily schedule adjustments, responding to high and low blood sugar readings and other questions.
