These providers would be part of a collaborative team of surgeon consultants, fellows, residents, nurses, and other staff to provide hospital coverage managing the inpatient care of adult surgical patients undergoing complex liver, pancreas, gastric, abdominal wall reconstruction, endocrine, bariatric and breast procedures. The NP/PA hospitalist team conducts comprehensive assessments of patients including: ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, diagnosing, prescribing of pharmacologic agents, treatments and non-pharmacologic therapies where a high level of autonomy is expected.
