Duties and responsibilities may include and are not limited to: • Receiving written prescription or refill requests and verify that information is complete and accurate • Assisting with the preparation and dispensing of medications, including verifying prescriptions and administering medications as prescribed • Maintaining accurate records of medication stock, monitoring expiration dates, and assisting with ordering and receiving medications • Gathering medication histories, clarifying medication orders with patients and healthcare providers, and providing patient education on medication usage and potential side effects • Maintaining proper storage and security conditions for all medications • Filling prescribed medications and affixing labels as necessary • Cleaning and maintaining all equipment and work areas, including sterilization as required • Stocking medication carts.
Completion of an accredited LPN program and valid LPN license within the State of WY Current Pharmacy Technician certificate/license in WY Must possess an active BLS/CPR Certification (AHA preferred) Strong knowledge of pharmacology, medication administration, and pharmacy operations Attention to detail, strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team, and a commitment to patient safety Ability to maintain confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information Integrity, professionalism and ability to adhere to a Code of Conduct and comply with all facility(s) correctional healthcare policies, procedures, and legal requirements Must pass the facility's criminal background check and drug screening.
