Qualifications & Skills The ideal candidate for this position will possess the following education, experience, and abilities: Actively pursuing a degree in civil engineering, environmental engineering, or a related field Strong work initiative, attention to detail, and a desire to learn Comfortable working outdoors in a variety of weather conditions Ability to communicate professionally to build positive relationships with project teams, contractors, clients and the public Basic math skills for accurate measurements and estimations Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Experience with construction, surveying, or CAD software is beneficial but not required. Goals & Responsibilities This position includes, but is not limited to, the following duties and responsibilities: Support field inspections of sewer, water, and paving construction projects to ensure compliance with plans and specifications Use of measuring and GPS equipment to verify materials, line, and grade accuracy Maintain accurate records and update project documentation utilizing electronic reporting software Collaborate with contractors, engineers, and municipal staff to maintain project schedules Respond to public inquiries and assist in addressing construction-related questions or concerns.
