This Field Engineer position involves the extensive travel required within the region to gain real world construction engineering and management experience.
Hydrologic and hydraulic stream analysis including scour analysis design experience for major (greater than 20’) structures crossings for Reinforced Concrete Box Culvert (RCBC) and bridge opening determinations. The ideal candidate will have 11 to 15 years of relevant experience in water resources engineering, with a proven ability to deliver high-quality projects across both public and private sectors.
The position will collaborate with WRA’s NC CEI Manager and Transportation leadership team, and WRA’s Executive CEI leadership to develop and implement a plan to grow WRA’s CEI practice in NC, including developing and advancing existing teaming partner and client relationships; supporting business development efforts to pursue CEI opportunities; assisting in preparing Letters of Interest for Project Advertisements and Requests for LOI; leading teams in pursuing potential work and securing project assignments; preparing CEI scopes and budgets for submission and negotiation; overseeing the hiring, managing, training and retaining CEI staff for awarded work; managing contracts and performing technical assignments awarded to WRA on Design-Build and Design-Bid-Build projects with federal, state and local clients and funding sources; assuring high quality of work and client satisfaction; reviewing and approving invoices; and supporting WRA’s other planning and engineering services in NC. This position will be instrumental in supporting our statewide CEI Leadership in expanding WRA’s CEI services in North Carolina; implementing strategies for growth for WRA’s NC CEI practice; developing teaming partner and client relationships; pursuing work with NCDOT, local governments, and other CEI clients; hiring and managing CEI staff; performing services on successfully awarded projects; and managing area contracts from successful award to contract closeout.
