The position develops procedures, training materials, and software-based instructional sessions for civil and environmental engineering laboratory courses; monitors and enforces laboratory safety procedures, including potential service on the university and/or college Safety Committee; and teaches selected laboratory sections such as Strength of Materials, Hydraulics, Geotechnical Engineering, Construction Materials, Soil/Water/Air Quality, Environmental Systems, and Microbiology for Environmental Engineers. Additional functions include recommending equipment purchases and upgrades to the Department Chair, coordinating vendor repairs, supporting student chapters and outreach events, overseeing student laboratory workers, collaborating with the CEE Director of Labs for Research, and maintaining a flexible schedule to accommodate departmental programs and activities.
