The Electrician is responsible for installation, repairs, and maintenance of the electrical equipment and fixtures of City of Dallas properties and facilities, including any labor or material used in airport field lighting, exhibit booths, city buildings, pump stations, civil defense sirens, traffic signal lighting, water and wastewater plants and other facilities or equipment used in connection with the use of electrical energy inside or outside a building or property in compliance with federal, state, and city codes updated by the latest edition of the National Electrical Code (NEC) adopted by TDLR. Inspects electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair to ensure compliance with electrical codes; tests circuits and electric components to locate broken connections or defective current-control mechanisms.
