For River Operations, the employee would perform routine fire equipment inspections including operating booster pumps and flushing hydrants; perform Class B dam safety and civil inspections; perform environmental inspections as well as assisting in handling environmental and other wastes in accordance with State and federal regulations; take corrective action on environmental compliance issues in which they are capable and informs supervision of needed additional actions; perform work, including cleaning operations, around rotating equipment such as in wheel pits. Typical duties include, but are not limited to the following: erecting/repairing fences, cutting grass, shrubbery, or danger trees, preparing ground surfaces for concrete pours, preparing or maintaining ground/yard surfaces, spraying insecticides/herbicides, digging ditches/trenches for cable, and performing general clean-up on substation sites, right-of-ways, or transmission facilities.
