QUALIFICATIONS:Required:* High School graduate or GED from an accredited institution* Three (3) years of custodial experiencePreferred:* Three (3) years job-related experienceSPECIAL NOWLEDGE/SKILLS:* Ability to understand instructions for cleaning, maintenance, and safety procedures* Knowledge of floor care programs or ability to learn how to properly maintain floors through national recognized company* Ability to operate cleaning equipment and lift heavy equipment* Ability to properly handle cleaning suppliesMAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:Duties:* Clean, strip, wax, buff and burnish hard floor surfaces* Shampoo, extract, and spot clean carpets* Operate and maintain various types of floor care equipment such as auto scrubbers, buffers, extractors and vacuums* Maintain cleanliness of assigned areas including hallways, classrooms, offices, restrooms and other public areas* Dust, vents, ledges, shelves and horizontal surfaces* Disinfect restroom sinks, urinals, fixtures, partitions, showers and floors* Polish all chrome* Disinfect public phones and water fountains* Remove facility trash and place in dumpster. Audio/Visual Demands:* Average hearing* Corrected 20/20 vision* Good depth perception* Ability to distinguish between colorsType of Equipment Used:Vacuum cleaner, broom, dust mop, wet mop, bucket, wringer, spray bottles, high duster, cart, small hand tools, roto, extractor, propane stripper and propane burnisherPersonal Protective Equipment:Rubber gloves, goggles and apron are required when mixing chemicals.
