Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, obtain accurate medical histories through effective interviewing techniques, ensure thorough and timely documentation in the medical record, and provide patient and family education regarding disease state, treatment plans, medications, side effects, and follow-up care. Tasks include but are not limited to coordinating patient care; anesthetizing by local injection; assisting in surgical procedures; developing a nurse-patient/family relationship; and assessing and managing patients within all adult age groups from young adult to geriatrics.
