Advanced Practice Registered Nurses (APRNs), Physician Assistants (PAs), Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs), and Certified Nurse Midwives (CNMs) must be appointed to the Affiliated Medical Staff of a Yale New Haven Health System (YNHHS) hospital and successfully complete the Medical Staff credentialing and privileging process. The Advanced Practice Provider (APP), either a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA), serves as an integral member of the interdisciplinary care team, providing comprehensive assessment, triage, diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing management of patients across inpatient, outpatient, and ambulatory settings.
