Overview: Responsible for managing daily referral activity, both through new and ongoing referrals; responsible for timely referral response, assessment, and evaluation of potential organ donors; collaborates with clinical, family and hospital resources to set-up optimal coverage of referrals; evaluates the need of each referral and engages appropriate Gift of Hope staff to effectively manage all referrals to a successful outcome; facilitates the gift of donation through the evaluation, authorization, medical management, and distribution of organs for transplantation or research from deceased organ donors. Flexibility to work outside of normal business hours; 12-hour shifts including day or night shifts, weekends and holidays as assigned; shifts extending beyond 12 hours when responsibilities warrant.
