nMead & Hunt has a full-time opportunity available for a Structural Design Engineer in our Columbia, MD; Herndon, VA; or Washington, DC office locations.\n \nKey Responsibilities:\n\n Prepare and oversee the preparation of bridge and highway sign structures designs, reports, studies, specifications, provisions, and construction documents\n Prepare engineering and design documents, computations, and quantity estimates\n Develop probable construction cost estimates for projects\n Perform condition inspections of bridge structures and highway sign structures\n Prepare condition inspections reports\n Manage bridge projects, including budgets, schedules, and deadlines\n Perform quality control and quality system tasks in accordance with the quality manual\n Be responsible for the timely completion of assigned tasks within projects\n Prepare, analyze, and modify engineering reports and plans\n Visit project sites to monitor progress and perform routine construction administration\n Assist with client contact and communication related to specific projects\n Provide assistance with bridge and other civil engineering projects in other locations, as needed\n \nSome travel will be required\n \nRequired Qualifications:\n\n Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Civil Engineering from an accredited college or university\n Minimum of 4 years of related experience\n Professional Engineer (PE) license in any state, with the ability to obtain Maryland licensure within 6 months of hire\n \nPreferred Qualifications:\n\n Civil engineering and bridge design experience, including plan preparation\n DOT bridge design experience\n AASHTO Bridge LRFD Design Guidelines\n STADD PRO\n Experience with bridge design software (LEAP products preferred)\n Drafting software experience (MicroStation preferred; OpenBridge a plus)\n \nWhy Mead & Hunt?\n\n Through innovative methodologies and a people-first culture, we deliver cost-effective solutions that elevate both clients and communities.\n \nAt Mead & Hunt, our culture is built on taking care of people, doing the right thing, and doing what makes sense.
