Performs high-quality customer service functions in person, via telephone, email, and web chat; provides assistance and information related to library services, fees, procedures, programs or other issues; directs visitors to areas of the library; provides collection information to patrons; assists patrons in locating books/reference materials, in using computer catalog, Internet and other library resources and equipment; registers new patrons; enters/updates patron information in computer; issues library cards; collects/records moneys in payment of fines, fees, or other library services; removes fine data from computer. Places library books/materials in appropriate shelving areas; sorts and shelves books, magazines, newspapers, DVDs, audios, and other library materials in appropriate order; moves and shelves materials as needed; reads labels to ensure materials are arranged properly.
