Patches holes and seals surfaces with asphalt, concrete, and gravel; maintains shoulders; cuts brush, clears trash, trims or removes trees, and mows grass; plows snow and applies ice control procedures; checks and replaces broken or missing signs; sweeps surfaces, and performs similar related tasks involved in airport maintenance; operates equipment including trucks, tractor?mowers, painting machines, sweepers, concrete mixers, small rollers, loaders, forklifts, spreaders, and similar equipment of comparable size and complexity; operates stump cutters, chain saws, asphalt kettles, jackhammers, weed sprayers, hand mowers, and various hand tools; ensures that equipment is serviced with gas, oil, water, and lubricants; performs or assists with manual work in maintenance of roads and aircraft operating surfaces, culverts, drains, ditches, buildings, hangars, and roofs; acts as helper to other maintenance employees; may install, repair or replace fences; trains other employees, as directed; may direct temporary help; may perform minor repairs to tools or equipment and assist in major maintenance of equipment. Physical and Environmental Work Requirements: This position is active for the entire shift (standing, walking, stooping, twisting, lifting, bending, pushing, reaching, climbing, crouching and crawling); Must be able to perform heavy manual work in severe weather conditions; Must be able to lift a minimum of 75 pounds unassisted and heavier loads with assistance; Ability to use hand/feet for repetitive single grasping, fine manipulations, pushing and pulling and operating controls and equipment; Must be able to see and hear within normal ranges.
