Be responsible for sponsoring an active Career and Technical Student Organization (CTSO) through FFA (Future Farmers of America) which enthusiastically competes in local, regional, state, and national skills competitions and events. Coordinate, maintain inventories, and keep record of the agriculture materials and equipment for classrooms and other assigned teaching areas.

Job Overview:The Agriculture Teacher will be responsible for courses related to the agriculture field. The Agriculture, Food, and Natural Resources (AFNR) career cluster prepares learners for careers in the planning, implementation, production, management, processing, and/or marketing of agricultural commodities and services. This includes food, fiber, wood products, natural resources, horticulture, and other plant and animal products. It also includes related professional, technical, and educational servicesJob Functions:<ul><li>Prepare teaching plans, demonstration plans, and teaching materials for all classes. </li><li>Prepare and evaluate teaching schedule, curriculum, and teaching calendars. </li><li>Conduct field trips, both in and out of district. </li><li>Coordinate, maintain inventories, and keep record of the agriculture materials and equipment for classrooms and other assigned teaching areas. </li><li>Be responsible for sponsoring an active Career and Technical Student Organization (CTSO) through FFA (Future Farmers of America) which enthusiastically competes in local, regional, state, and national skills competitions and events. </li><li>Assist students in coordinating FFA activities at the local, district, state, and national levels. </li><li>Prepare and train FFA and agriculture contest teams and entries. </li><li>Assist students in preparing applications for proficiency awards, state and American Degrees, etc. </li><li>Plan and attend evening activities including but not limited to: recruitment events, consulting committee meetings and awards ceremonies. </li><li>Be willing to obtain license endorsement for transportation of students. </li><li>Purchase supplies and equipment for the classroom and agriculture program. </li><li>Contribute to the preparation and tracking of the budget for the agriculture program each year. </li><li>Cooperate in maintaining, planning, and improving the physical facilities. </li><li>Contribute to the grant writing process for acquisition of agriculture equipment, materials, and facilities. </li><li>Complete and file required reports with appropriate agencies including the State Department of Education. </li><li>Responsible for maintaining a "Quality Program of Study" as directed by the TDOE CCTE Department </li><li>Maintain compliance with state and federal funding requirements. </li><li>Provide complete, compliant, and on-time Size, Scope, and Quality Indicators (SSQI) documentation on a yearly basis. </li><li>The principal may assign extra co-curricular duties, meetings, committees, and professional development throughout the school year.</li></ul>
