Purpose of Classification: The purpose of this classification is to perform duties related to servicing and repairing heavy trucks and off-road equipment, including inspecting, repairing, and maintaining heavy equipment, such as bulldozers, asphalt spreaders, mechanical loaders, trailers, tractors, and heavy trucks; overhauling and rebuilding heavy trucks and equipment; and loading, unloading, and hauling heavy equipment. Many of the competencies and transferable skills developed through military service directly support success in this role, including: Leadership under pressure - Maintains steady judgment and professionalism when responding to urgent equipment failures or time-sensitive repair needs; Prioritizes critical repairs during emergencies or high-demand operations; Guides operators on safe interim solutions when equipment issues arise.
