Job Descriptions - Human Resources Department Revised on 7/13/2026 Position: HVAC & Building Automation Systems (BAS) Technician Department/Campus: Central Office / Expansion & Construction Reports to: Building Manager FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Pay Grade: PG 1080 Job Type: Full Time Work Hours: Normal Work hours / 240 days JOB GOAL HVAC & Building Automation Systems (BAS) Technician is responsible for coordinating and supporting Central Office and district-wide HVAC and BAS operations through the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, programming, and optimization of HVAC and control systems, while supporting energy management initiatives and HVAC projects to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient facility operations. WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: o Prolonged periods standing, walking, climbing, stooping, bending, kneeling, reaching, pulling, pushing; heavy lifting and carrying; repetitive hand motions; o Work in tiring and uncomfortable positions; outside and inside; on slippery or uneven walking surfaces, ladders, and scaffolding and around machinery with moving parts; move small stacks of textbooks, media equipment, desks, and other classroom equipment; exposure to hot and cold temperatures, excessive noise; frequent district-wide travel o Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
