Demonstrates proficiency in performing the full scope of wound care and management, including patient health interviews, review of medical/surgical health history, physical assessment, ordering and interpretation of diagnostic testing, diagnosing health problems, managing health care, providing health teaching and counseling, initiation of referrals, following all appropriate guidelines for indicated treatment and follow-up scheduling, collaborating with assigned team members and other health care providers, and maintaining electronic health records. • The advanced practice nurse may prescribe non-scheduled legend drugs, initiate, monitor, alter or order drug therapies based on educational preparation, clinical experience, and state guidelines/scope of practice either in collaboration with a physician provider or under the supervision of a physician provider.
