Design, implement and test embedded C software for safety-critical multicore automotive microcontrollers, spanning base software such as RTOS, device drivers, scheduling and bootloader, middleware such as inter-component messaging and end-to-end protection, and application components such as actuator interface, body controls, power management and fault management. The Embedded Software Engineering team builds the software for the safety-critical embedded controllers that connect the Nuro Driver to the vehicle: the devices that command steering, braking, and propulsion, alongside other vehicle actuators, distribute and monitor power, monitor vehicle motion, and bring the vehicle to a safe state when something goes wrong.
