In partnership with a child’s caregiver, the Early Childhood Special Educator will evaluate children’s needs considering a child’s and family strengths and culture, in the areas of social-emotional, play, problem-solving, self-help skills, communication as well as sensory needs as they impact the child’s participation in daily or community routines. As a primary service provider of the ESIT team, the Early Childhood Special Educator is responsible for providing direct support and joint supports to their team and families with young children who have delays in the areas of play, basic communication, cognitive and social-emotional as well as other areas of general development.
