The Town of Marana is seeking a Water Operator I to work in the Water Department. This is a full-time position and an exciting opportunity for someone interested in joining a team-oriented atmosphere in the water distribution field. Maintains, services, and repairs water distribution system components including water mains, ARV/PRV equipment, fire hydrants, valves, backflow preventer and water metering equipment. Review system maps and as built plans and perform assigned blue stakes.
Assist in the installation of water distribution components including water mains, fire hydrants, meters, and valves. Respond to emergency repair of systems as needed.
Performs various skilled and semi-skilled plumbing, fabrication, operating heavy equipment, and basic hand tools.
Responds to customer service activities including meter reads, water audits, pressure concerns, and leak investigations.
Maintains an inventory of supplies, parts, and equipment used in water service maintenance.Minimum Qualifications

Performs meticulous receiving, inspecting, storing, and shipping of customer goods and materials subject to import/export regulations. Ensures product accuracy, integrity, and adherence to strict quality control and safety procedures. ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: <ul><li>Engages indaily activities of receiving, inspecting, labeling, storing, and moving customers' goods and bonded materials within the warehouse. Maintains efficient warehouse operations by meticulously receiving, inspecting, labeling, storing, and retrieving customer goods and materials. Ensures product accuracy and integrity through thorough inspections upon arrival, proper labeling for easy identification, and precise storage according to established bonded procedures. Optimizes warehouse space by efficiently storing and retrieving goods, maximizing space utilization.</li><li>Conducts thorough inspections of incoming goods and materials to verify accurate quantity, identify any damage or signs of tampering, and ensure product integrity. Documents discrepancies on the provided handheld by completing Over, Short, and Damage (OSD) reports, including photographic evidence, and promptly communicates these findings to customer service teams and affected customers.</li><li>Operates various material handling equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, and similar equipment, to efficiently load, unload, and maneuver goods within the warehouse. Verifies pre-loading inspections of trailers are completed, to ensure their safety and suitability for transporting customer goods. Proactively identifies and reports any unsafe conditions to the Team Lead. The ability to obtain certifications for operating specific equipment may be required.</li><li>Ensures order accuracy and efficiency by reviewing, processing, and maintaining documentation for all incoming and outgoing shipments (bills of lading, airwaybills, packing lists, CBP forms, etc.). Identifies and reports any discrepancies to the team lead for prompt resolution. Maintains inventory control by meticulously comparing packing lists with physical materials, performing data entry into our inventory control software system, and conducting regular cycle counts to ensure stock accuracy.</li><li>Prioritizes a safe work environment by adhering to all safety regulations, completing safety checklists, and utilizing appropriate safety equipment such as dock plates and dock restraining systems, trailer jacks, wheel chocks, and glad hand locks. </li><li>Utilizes warehouse management systems (WMS) and other software applications to maintain accurate and up-to-date records of inventory levels, order fulfillment, and stock movement. Prepares and maintains essential warehouse documentation including BOLs, order requisitions, packing slips, and discrepancy reports.</li><li>Continuously identifies opportunities for improvement in warehouse processes by suggesting solutions. disruption.This position is accountable for the end‑to‑end inventory and receiving experience for internal customers-manufacturing, quality, procurement, engineering, and planning-by delivering reliable inventory accuracy, predictable material availability, and disciplined control processes that support production efficiently. Essential Duties<ul><li>Lead all receiving activities for raw materials, components, supplies, tooling, and capital equipment.</li><li>Ensure inbound shipments are verified against purchase orders, packing lists, and specifications.</li><li>Coordinate inspection and disposition of received materials with Engineering (as applicable).</li><li>Ensure nonconforming, damaged, or discrepant material is identified, segregated, documented, and resolved.</li><li>Maintain clear dock scheduling, unloading procedures, and traffic flow to support safe and timely receiving.</li><li>Ensure received materials are put away correctly and available to production on time.</li><li>Coordinate material release from receiving to approved inventory locations.</li><li>Partner with production, planning, and procurement to resolve material shortages and
