Responsibilities:
As a Directional Drill Operator/Locator, you will support directional drilling for the installation of underground conduit and fiber optic cable. You believe in doing the job right. Being the best. And you’re up for the challenge.   In addition, you will: <ul><li>Locate a Horizontal Directional Driller for the installation of underground conduit and fiber optic cable </li><li>Operate a horizontal directional bore in collaboration with the Drill Locator to successfully install coax and fiber systems </li><li>Ensure the safety of the public and other underground utility facilities </li><li>Read utility locates and coordinates the daylighting of these facilities </li><li>Transport heavy equipment to and from the job site each day </li></ul>

Duties: - Operate and maneuver heavy equipment, including directional bore machines, excavators, trucks and trailers, loaders, and other machinery - Work around utility locates to provide safe digging/drilling - Perform drilling operations to dig holes and trenches for construction projects - Follow project plans and blueprints to ensure accurate drilling and excavation - Monitor equipment performance and report any malfunctions or issues to the supervisor - Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to safety regulations and procedures - Collaborate with team members to complete projects in a timely manner - Conduct routine maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance Experience: - Preferably at least 2-3 years' experience or education/training equivalent in operating directional bore machines, excavators, trucks and trailers - Strong mechanical knowledge and understanding of equipment operation - Ability to read and interpret project plans and blueprints - Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail - Physical stamina and ability to work in various weather conditions Note: This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive.  The employee may be required to perform other duties as assigned.
