Baker Distributing Company is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Driver Warehouse Associate to join our team! As a key representative of our company, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently delivering HVAC products to our valued customers while providing top-notch customer service. Summary The Driver serves as the representative of Baker Distributing, crucial to both our operations and customer satisfaction. In this role, you will be tasked with the safe and efficient delivery of products to our esteemed customers, all while upholding exceptional customer service and professionalism. The Driver Warehouse Associate role involves daily delivering and transporting HVAC goods and materials from our established wholesale HVAC distributorships to customers, vendors, or other Sales Center locations. This role also includes maintaining and operating the warehouse in between deliveries. Essential Duties/Accountabilities <ul><li>Represent Baker Distributing Company as a leader in the industry. </li></ul><ul><li>Daily loading and unloading of products in truck for delivery to customers and/or other Sales Centers. </li></ul><ul><li>Collect invoices with proper signatures and return to Sales Center Manager. </li></ul><ul><li>Assist in the Warehouse with inventory counts, picking and verifying orders. </li></ul><ul><li>Responsible for daily checklist of truck maintenance and reporting in/out times with merchandise returns. </li></ul><ul><li>Adhere to all company safety protocols and procedures. </li></ul><ul><li>Utilize personal protective equipment (PPE) as required. </li></ul><ul><li>Report any safety hazards or incidents immediately to management. </li></ul><ul><li>Participate in regular safety training sessions and drills. </li></ul><ul><li>Ensure proper handling and storage of all products to prevent accidents and injuries. </li></ul><ul><li>Follow all guidelines for the safe operation of the truck and other warehouse equipment. </li></ul><ul><li>Maintain a clean and organized truck and workspace to prevent accidents and injuries. </li></ul><ul><li>Ensure all loading and unloading activities are conducted safely, using proper techniques and equipment. </li></ul><ul><li>Perform other duties as assigned. </li></ul>Qualifications <ul><li>High School Diploma or GED required; equivalent experience may be considered. </li></ul><ul><li>Minimum 1-year truck driving experience. </li></ul><ul><li>Box Truck delivery experience </li></ul><ul><li>A valid Department of Transportation (DOT) medical certificate is required prior to employment. </li></ul><ul><li>The role requires the ability to meet DOT physical qualification standards, with reasonable accommodations   </li></ul><ul><li>CDL license is highly desirable. </li></ul><ul><li>Warehouse experience, including driving a forklift/appliance lift, is a plus. </li></ul><ul><li>Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on customer service, problem-solving, and relationship-building. </li></ul><ul><li>Ability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic, fast-paced environment; reasonable accommodations will be provided as needed. </li></ul><ul><li>Demonstrated interest in continuous learning, mentoring, and leadership. </li></ul><ul><li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office or similar productivity tools; assistive technologies may be used to support this function. </li></ul><ul><li>Excellent customer service mindset with the ability to develop long term relationships. </li></ul><ul><li>Applicants must be at least 21 years of age. </li></ul><ul><li>A valid driver’s license is required only if driving is an essential function of the role. </li></ul>Skills <ul><li>Strong interpersonal skills. </li></ul><ul><li>Excellent customer service mindset with the ability to develop long term relationships. </li></ul><ul><li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills. </li></ul><ul><li>Excellent analytical aptitude with a proven ability to analyze/interpret data. </li></ul><ul><li>Strong and creative problem-solving skills </li></ul><ul><li>Ability to work independently and in a team environment. </li></ul><ul><li>Proactively seeks continuous process and service improvements. </li></ul><ul><li>This role requires the ability to understand and communicate in English to comply with safety standards, training, policies, and procedures. Overview:
HOURLY RATE: $23.50-$25.00 POSITION SUMMARY: Operates a truck, van, roll-off or combination tractor/trailer, depending on position, primarily to deliver or pick up merchandise/donations from donation centers, Goodwill stores/facilities, businesses or private residences.

Responsibilities:
Essential Functions Statement:<ol><li>Safeguards all donations and company property from damage and theft. Treats all donations and company property with respect and care. Assists donors when present and necessary.</li><li>Reads maps, operates navigational tools (Teletrac/GPS) and follows written and verbal geographic directions.</li><li>Maintains records such as Daily Vehicle Inspection Reports (DVIRS) and daily Trip Sheets according to all State and Federal laws and company procedures.</li><li>Provides basic direction and redirection if assigned a Truck Helper.</li><li>Safely operates/drives 20-26 foot bobtail trucks, completing all daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections on assigned vehicles, immediately reporting any supply needs, equipment needs/issues and any mechanical problems encountered with vehicles to Dispatch or a Transportation Management member.</li><li>Safely and efficiently loads and unloads truck, vehicles, containers and trailers. Loads and unloads vehicles by hand or with the use of a hand truck, lift gate and/or pallet jack.</li><li>Maintains communication with Dispatch, calling at each stop and at scheduled times throughout the day.  Appropriately uses and responds to Teletrac messages.</li><li>Safely and efficiently pads, stacks, and secures items in position on the truck to prevent damage during transit.</li><li>Abides by all safety procedures and policies at all times. Reports any safety concerns immediately to on-site management or immediate supervisor.</li><li>Performs other miscellaneous duties as directed or assigned.</li><li>Completes donation pick-ups in the community.</li><li>Accepts donations according to company guidelines set forth in the Truck Driver and Truck Helper Training Manual.  This includes providing excellent customer service to donors, politely greeting all donors, safely and respectfully moving and loading all donations, accurately completing donation receipts, politely refusing or referring donors to other locations (only when necessary), and thanking each donor for every donation.</li></ol>

Qualifications:
SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Education: High School Degree or GED preferred. Experience: 6 months industrial vehicle driving experience required, one year preferred. Computer Skills: Basic computer skills and the ability to operate GPS tracking system preferred. Certificates & Licenses: Valid California Driver’s License, (Class C) with driving record acceptable to Goodwill’s insurance company’s standards.
