In addition to patient care and treatment, house officer training, and DVM student education, the faculty in the service contribute to research activities both in the College of Veterinary Medicine, through public-private partnerships and clinical trials, and with the greater MU community through collaboration with the School of Medicine, the Ellis Fischel Cancer Center, and the NextGen Precision Medicine Initiative. Incumbents will be expected to maintain a strong caseload, participate in house officer training and DVM student education, as well as drive a robust translational research program that seeks to develop new and innovative treatments, improve diagnostic capabilities, increase patient outcomes, and drive understanding of cancer as a disease.
