Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive medical care to geriatric and long-term care patients.
New additions to the College's programs include the Bob Crewe Program in Art and Music, a minor in Sustainable Ecosystems in Art and Design, the nationally known Salt Institute of Documentary Studies, and a BFA in Animation and Game Art, all of which complement MECA&D's long-running Public Engagement program. To fulfill the criteria of the immediate course in Fall 2026, the candidate must have experience in advanced joinery and be well-versed in the technical, formal, and conceptual considerations of creating a diverse portfolio of objects made within the wood studio.
This position requires both classroom management and management of instructional responsibilities to include, but not limited to, implementing CARE principles, delivering assessment tools, creating lesson plans, writing IEPs, coordinating with the clinical team, supervising educational technicians, involvement in TCI safety restraints, BHP, ISP, and IEP tracking and various other duties in a day treatment special education setting. Bachelor's degree and Maine State certification as Teacher of Exceptional Students (282) or Teacher of Students with Severe Intellectual and Associated Impairments (286), as appropriate to the position and age level of students or eligibility for conditional certification as a special education teacher.
Among the duties [expected of Spurwink Special Education Teachers] are planning and delivering instruction, implementing goals for Individual Education Plans and monitoring progress, coaching, providing behavior management aligned with an integrated therapeutic model, creating and maintaining a classroom culture that supports the therapeutic model, and providing oversight of Educational Technicians III assigned to their classrooms. Candidates must have a bachelor's degree and Maine State certification as Teacher of Exceptional Students (282 Birth - 5 yrs) or be eligible for 282 certification.
Current TN Teacher License or High School Diploma or equivalent. Knowledge of TSSAA/TMSAA Rules and Regulations for the sport of Volleyball Coach.
