The Part-time Public Educator position is part of a dedicated team that is responsible for Sanitary Sewer, Wastewater Treatment, Stormwater, and Floodplain Management for the City through training, public education, plan review, inspection, and permitting associated with the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System Permit, Municipal Separate Storm Sewer (MS4) Permit, and National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) via the City’s Sanitary and Stormwater Utilities. The expectation is that there will be about 15 - 20 Saturdays on the schedule for the year and about 5-10 evening events but this could vary based on business needs; Requires the ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 lbs; Must be able to interact and communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with a variety of people; Must be able to handle several projects at the same time and effectively problem solve issues; Ability to process and use basic workplace data and graphics; summarize, compare and identify trends between and among forms, tables, graphs, diagrams, maps, etc.
