About the Opportunity: The College of Arts, Media and Design (CAMD) at Northeastern University is seeking interdisciplinary candidates for an academic year, tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor, with a record of excellence in critically-engaged research and/or creative practice that advances the concept of AI-mediated telepresence, where technology is used to enhance connection across distance in areas such as telemedicine, telehealth, immersive/AI-mediated shared environments, and human information networks beginning in academic year 2027-2028. A successful candidate could focus on research areas pertaining to design, development, management, and deployment of telepresence and AI in real-world contexts and practices, including (but not limited to): immersive, AI-powered, and digital health technologies; embodied intelligence; immersive social presence; human-agent teaming; the relationship between telepresence and AI; AI-mediated remote teaching and learning; distributed simulation and training, including clinical, professional, and educational training; and/or multi-modal experience design.
