Upon completion, students will be able to produce professional drawings of anatomically correct figures, depict chiaroscuro (the treatment of light and shade in drawing and painting) in the figure, contrast and emphasize value and placement of the figures by using pencil, charcoal, pastel, conté and other mediums. Upon completion, students will be able to produce high-quality sketches, effectively apply techniques such as hatching and blending to depict light and shadow, and create balanced compositions using pencil, colored pencils, charcoal, ink, and other mediums.
