The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry is a nationally ranked, research-intensive unit with over $25 million dollars of research-grade instrumentation including spectrometers (nuclear magnetic resonance, mass, optical, x-ray), chromatographs (gas and liquid), vacuum equipment (pumps, chambers) and laboratory equipment (analytical balances, centrifuges, motors, refrigeration and other temperature-controlled devices, etc.). The selected candidate will participate in the development, testing and implementation of novel computational methods that incorporate experimental data and the preparation of technical reports and peer-reviewed publications; and the dissemination of project results at professional meetings.
