Xavier University of LouisianaAssistant or Associate Professor of Speech-Language Pathology Xavier University of LouisianaAssistant or Associate Professor of Speech-Language PathologyNew Orleans, LAMinimum Qualifications The successful candidate will have: • A Doctoral degree (PhD or EdD) in Speech-Language Pathology or related fields • ABD welcome to apply, however, degree must be conferred by the time of appointment for August 2026 • Current ASHA Certifications (CCC-SLP) • Eligible for Louisiana state licensure in speech-language pathology with an active license expected by the start date • At least nine months of full-time clinical experience after the CCC-SLP • Commitment to developing an active research program within the area of the applicants expertise • Conduct ongoing independent research resulting in scholarly publications and/or successful grant proposals • Focus on areas related to speech-language pathology • Commitment to academic advising and mentoring for undergraduate and graduate students in the department • Demonstrated commitment to working successfully with a diverse student population • Write and speak English proficiently • Demonstrated ability and willingness to work collegially • Commitment to the mission of Xavier University of Louisiana. Duties & Responsibilities The successful candidate will be expected to: • Demonstrate excellence in teaching and research with undergraduate and graduate students • Demonstrate a record of research-related activities • Demonstrate a dedication to providing training and services relating to culturally and linguistically diverse populations • Demonstrate the ability to provide clinical supervision • Demonstrate support to HBCU undergraduate and graduate students through academic advising as well as mentorship • Contribute to the operation and growth of the speech pathology department • Participate in service activities for the department, university, and community • Ability to develop and teach face-to-face as well as online classes if needed • Demonstrate the ability to contribute to recruitment efforts and our existing strengths in community-based partnerships • Mentoring undergraduate and graduate students in creative scholarship and social justice.
