Located on the Cumberland Plateau, the 13,000 acre campus encompasses some of the most biodiverse forests in the eastern United States while well-equipped lab facilities support a broad range of molecular, organismal, ecological, and environmental research. The Biology Department spans Molecular Biology and Genetics, Integrative Biology, and Ecology and Biodiversity while contributing to interdisciplinary majors in Biochemistry, Neuroscience, and Environment and Sustainability and a thriving pre-health program.
