Assists with resuscitation / CPR and emergency airway procedures Performs venipuncture to obtain blood specimens Assists physicians and nurses providing technical support for patient care Reports on the condition of the patient to the appropriate supervisor/staff member Assists with the transport of patients to other departments Assists with obtaining and documentation of vital signs, cardiac monitoring, and non-invasive blood pressure monitoring systems Obtains 12-lead EKGs, discontinues peripheral IV and heparin/saline locks Assist with wound care, insertion of Foley catheters, and nasogastric tubes Assists with positioning patients, application of orthopedic splints and dressings Measure and fit crutches and canes and instruct patients on proper use.
