Position also coordinates the workflow of the department, regularly collects and analyzes data for process improvement projects, may serve as project lead on major projects affecting pharmacy, aids in the training and coaching of team members, regularly serves as a resource for colleagues, and interacts with healthcare professionals on drug utilization and cost containment. Key job duties may consist of ensuring the safety and effectiveness of the medication use process, processing and dispensing medications per order or prescription, medication therapy monitoring, regulatory compliance, maintaining oversight over pharmacist extenders, maintaining the security of medications, and protecting the confidentiality of patient information.
