KEY RESPONSIBILITIES + Use measuring devices such as calipers, micrometers, steel rulers, pin gages, surface plate, and height gage + Read and interpret blueprints + Visual inspection of product according to customer requirements + Inspect and or test in-process product as well as finished product + Document inspection results by completing required reports/logs + Identify and quarantine all non-conforming product + Generate and summarize non-conforming reports for discrepant product + Keep measurement equipment operating by following operating instructions and identify and address issues with equipment that may need repair + Inspect and approve incoming materials where and when needed by confirming they meet specifications + Attend department meetings as required + Inspect and release products for shipping by ensuring proper documentation or certifications are provided as outlined by customer requirements. Write simple correspondence + Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees + Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals + Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage and to draw and interpret graphs + Knowledge of word processing software, spreadsheet software, e-mail software and the use of the internet EDUCATION + High school diploma + Associate degree in related field preferred LOCATION + Onsite SCHEDULE + M-F WORK ENVIRONMENT + While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts and vibration.
