You will partner closely with NPD design leadership and cross functional peers in Product Management, Product Engineering, Quality, and Regulatory to define hardware and electrical systems, maintain traceability, and ensure products meet customer, performance, and regulatory expectations throughout the product lifecycle.WHAT YOU WILL DO:Embedded Controls Development<ul><li>Design and develop embedded control PCBA and associated circuits for ULT freezers and cold storage platforms</li><li>Create schematics, design analysis, bill of materials, assembly drawings, and other required documentation.</li><li>Develop performance and qualification test methods, coordinate the implementation of experiments, and evaluate test results.</li><li>Design electrical systems that meet customer requirements, time to market commitments and that are within the target cost of the projects.</li><li>Create modular, scalable, and reusable solutions across multiple product platforms.</li></ul>Product Development & Cross-Functional Collaboration<ul><li>Collaborate with refrigeration and mechanical engineering teams through all phases of the toll-gate NPD process.</li><li>Work with contract manufacturers to prepare circuit and functional testing.</li><li>Support products manufactured across multiple global facilities.</li><li>Contribute to component, sub-system, and system-level technology roadmaps.</li></ul>Requirements, Compliance & Traceability<ul><li>Lead and participate in formal design reviews of electronic controls requirements, schematics, layouts, as well as FMEA, DFM, DFT, and other related analyses</li><li>Prepare and support the review and release of formal requirements, design, and qualification documentation.</li><li>Ensure systems are designed for compliance to meet regulatory and certification requirements (e.g., UL, IEC, FDA).</li></ul>People and Culture<ul><li>Engage in a culture of safety, quality, accountability, and continuous improvement.</li><li>Travel: Up to 10% domestic travel.</li></ul>REQUIREMENTS:Education<ul><li>Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering</li><li>Master's degree preferred</li></ul>Experience<ul><li>5+ years of hands-on experience developing embedded control systems for electromechanical products.</li><li>Experience with electronic controls including analog and digital circuit design, prototyping, qualifying, and commercialization planning.</li><li>Experience with high-speed circuit design. (USB, Ethernet, LVDS) and analog / mixed signal</li><li>Experience analyzing empirical test data to guide design decisions</li><li>Familiarity with electronic analysis methodologies, associated instrumentation, and technical documentation</li><li>Familiarity with Lean / PPI methodologies and continuous improvement systems</li></ul>Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities<ul><li>Expertise in embedded microcontroller based PCBA design using PADS layout tool</li><li>Supervise prototype construction and conduct performance testing to determine practical feasibility of concepts.</li><li>Development with IEC 60601 design practices and other electrical safety standards.</li><li>Strong analytical, problem-solving, and root-cause analysis skills</li><li>Utilization of development tools such as Confluence, Jira, Git, and Microsoft Office</li><li>Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills</li><li>Excellent organizational skills in a fast-paced, multi-project environment</li><li>Commitment to safety, quality, and operational excellence</li></ul>

Position Summary:
As an Electrical Designer, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality electrical design solutions. This position requires deep technical expertise, a proactive mindset, and the ability to collaborate across disciplines to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective project execution.  ***Candidate MUST be a U.S. Citizen.

Responsibilities:
Adhere to core values of Safety, Integrity, Partnership, Respect, and Ownership.Develop complete electrical design packages including conceptual, preliminary, and construction deliverables.Create detailed 2D/3D CAD drawings and layouts for parts, assemblies, and systems.Perform electrical load and sizing calculations to support design decisions.Review and verify drawings for accuracy, compliance, and constructability.Prepare and revise Bills of Materials (BOMs) and technical specifications.Conduct field surveys and document existing conditions to inform design.Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and procedures.Follow QA/QC requirements.Collaborate with engineers, vendors, and stake holders to resolve design challenges and optimize solutions.Support design change documentation.Maintain drawing and document control in accordance with company standards.Primarily office-based with frequent fieldwork in active chemical manufacturing areas.Must be able to access all areas of the plant, including elevated platforms.Exposure to industrial hazards such as moving equipment, chemicals, and varying weather conditions.Use of appropriate PPE is required.

Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent required.Minimum 5+ years of electrical design experience in the polymer or chemical industry.Additional vocational-technical drafting training or minimum of two (2) years in an associate or bachelor’s degree program in Electrical Engineering or related discipline is preferred.Working knowledge of Microsoft products (Word and Excel).Proficiency in CAD software (2D/3D) – primarily MicroStation with knowledge of AutoCAD.Ability to sit, stand, walk, climb, and stoop as needed.Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.Strong problem-solving and reasoning abilities.Effective communication skills for working with cross-functional teams.Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

Education Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent required.Additional vocational-technical drafting training or minimum of two (2) years in an associate or bachelor’s degree program in Electrical Engineering or related discipline is preferred.
