D. in Electrical Engineering, Physics or a related field • Technical hands-on laboratory experience in the areas of electronics, power systems, semiconductor fabrication and characterization, optics, renewable energy or related fields • An understanding of investigative analysis for troubleshooting technical issues and solving technical challenges • Experience with at least one common programming language such as Python, C/C++, Java, MATLAB, or similar • Excellent written and verbal communications skills, and ability to work independently or in multidisciplinary teams • Ability to gather information and convey technical conclusions to individuals in engineering, business, and related industry • Interest in learning and working with a wide range of devices and systems that span a broad array of consumer and industrial applications, including both hardware and software elements of these systems • Ability to support multiple group projects and market the Electrical Engineering & Computer Science Practice and its consulting services • Presently legally authorized to work in the United States. You will be responsible for: • Performing engineering analyses related to ongoing Exponent work including circuit analysis, design reviews, safety compliance investigations, code reviews, and reliability and failure analyses related to electrical/electronic systems and components as well as to computer systems and associated networks • Using deep expertise in electrical engineering, physics, or a related field to develop solutions to a wide array of challenging technical problems • Preparing technical proposals, pursuing business development, and supervising and managing laboratory testing • Presenting technical results and solutions to a diverse audience through verbal, written, and interactive communication • Preparing technical proposals, pursuing business developments, and expanding the range of software-related services Exponent provides to clients.
