Candidates should have general knowledge of power distribution equipment, motors, Variable Speed/Frequency Drives (VSD, VFD), electrical metering, totalizers, and pneumatic devices, and a working knowledge of electrical diagrams and circuits, and familiarity with NEC. Utility and Energy Services is responsible for the design, operation, maintenance, and repair of the campus' energy generation and distribution infrastructure for steam (heating), chilled water (cooling), and electricity.
