Clinical assessment and evaluation, healthcare management of assigned veteran patients with acute and chronic illnesses; ordering and interpreting labs, diagnostic studies, consultations, referrals, patient follow-up, health promotion, disease prevention, clinical research, and patient/family/staff education and counseling. Age-specific care, including knowledge of changes associated with aging and principles of growth and development relevant to the adult and geriatric age groups: ability to assess and interpret data about the patients status; and ability to identify age-specific needs and provide the appropriate care based upon the age-related factors noted.
