QUALIFICATIONSOur Structural Welder must be able to:Adequately operate a cutting torchAdjust the welder to ensure proper feed rate and temperatureProperly operate forklifts, jib hoists, and overhead cranesLearn and use hand signals for crane operationRead, understand, and follow cutting lists, shop orders, and shop drawingsPerform general math calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals, etc.)Read, write, and follow semi-complicated verbal and written instructionsCommunicate with managers and co-workersSet priorities, meet goals, and work under periodic supervisionUse a tape measure/rulerFollow safety policies and take accountability for your workMultitaskRequired Abilities:Maintain American Welding Society certification on a 1-inch plate in flat position using the gas metal arc welding and flux-cored arc welding processesPass the fillet weld break test using the gas metal arc welding processPass a basic welding test that covers shop drawing interpretation, weld symbols, welding processes, weld process symbol interpretation/application, and a visual acuity testPass a fitting test that covers shop drawing interpretation, fractional number calculations, basic geometry, etc. If you're comfortable working independently to complete accurate, safe, and high-quality welds, then you could be the right fit.
