JOB SUMMARY A Senior Mechanical Engineer III is needed to provide detailed mechanical designs for handling and process equipment on-site at Sullivan Park. This role encompasses all aspects of equipment design, build, and debug, including vendor management. The engineer will provide hands-on mechanical support for the installation, start-up, and debug of glass manufacturing process equipment, working collaboratively with a multi-functional team. This position requires the application of mechanical principles encompassing mechanics, hydraulics, thermodynamics, metallurgy, and machine design used for the design, production, operation, and use machinery of all types. Domestic travel up to 25% to vendor or plant sites is required. This role plays a key part in improving efficiency, quality, and safety on the production floor while ensuring that equipment, tools, and systems operate at optimal performance levels.

Summary: The Manufacturing Engineering Technician supports engineering and production teams by assisting with the development, testing, implementation, and maintenance of manufacturing processes and systems in a heavy manufacturing environment. This role plays a key part in improving efficiency, quality, and safety on the production floor while ensuring that equipment, tools, and systems operate at optimal performance levels.Duties and Responsibilities:<ul><li>Assist engineers in designing, developing, and implementing manufacturing processes, procedures, and tooling for new and existing products.</li><li>Monitor, test, and troubleshoot production processes, equipment, and machinery to ensure optimal performance.</li><li>Collect and analyze production data to identify process inefficiencies and recommend improvements in workflow, layout, or tooling.</li><li>Support root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action plans for process or quality issues.</li><li>Draft and update standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and process documentation.</li><li>Participate in process capability studies, time studies, and continuous improvement initiatives (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma).</li><li>Provide technical support during equipment installations, upgrades, and maintenance activities.</li><li>Collaborate with maintenance and production teams to ensure compliance with all safety and operational standards.</li><li>Assist manufacturing engineers with capital equipment procurement, commissioning, and validation projects.</li><li>Maintain accurate records of tests, calibrations, and process performance.</li></ul>Qualifications:<ul><li>Associate degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Industrial Technology, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.</li><li>2+ years of experience in a manufacturing or production support role, preferably in heavy industry (metal fabrication, machining, forging, or casting).</li><li>Strong mechanical aptitude and familiarity with industrial equipment and manufacturing processes.</li><li>Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics.</li><li>Proficiency with measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers) and data acquisition tools.</li><li>Experience with ERP systems, CAD/CAM software, and the Microsoft Office Suite.</li><li>Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma methodologies preferred.</li><li>Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.</li><li>Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.</li></ul>Work Environment:<ul><li>May require standing or sitting for extended periods, walking throughout the facility, and lifting up to 50 lbs as needed.</li><li>Exposure to elements such as heat, cold, noise, dust, odors, and fumes.</li><li>Work primarily performed inside the production and office areas, with occasional outdoor tasks or inspections as required.</li></ul>
