The candidate must have the ability to effectively manage the operating budget, conduct performance evaluations, guide curriculum review and SACSCOC compliance, direct course scheduling, lead hiring and recruitment, resolve student academic issues, and lead the departments standing committees. The English department is where many GGC students begin their college work, teaching a substantial part of the core curriculum and offering degrees in Creative Writing, Literary and Cultural Studies, Writing Studies, Interdisciplinary Studies, and Teacher Certification.
