Entry-Level Mechanical Design Engineer Job Duties: Participate in the entire design cycle of mechanical subsystems, including conceptual and detailed design, trade studies, development testing and qualification Perform engineering calculations to validate component and system design (free body diagrams, structural analysis, vibration analysis, flow analysis, and heat transfer analysis) Review manufacturing drawings to ensure form, fit and function Perform tolerance stacks analysis in accordance with ASME Y14.5 2009 Work within a team environment to achieve the desired project goals and ensure the project tasks are completed on time, on budget, and with technical excellence Create documentation for assembly and testing of development and flight hardware Qualifications: Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering or similar Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (Green Card holder) Preferred Qualifications: Experience designing Aerospace or equivalent types of mechanical systems within aircraft, spacecraft, or launch vehicles Experience designing gas turbine engine components (fan, compressor, combustor, turbine, rotors, stators, etc.) Experience with repairs or Material Review Board (MRB) Experience designing rigs or test stands Experience designing airfoils and/or rotating parts Experience designing bearing, seals, and drives Experience designing sumps and lube systems Experience with ASME Y14.5 2009 Working knowledge of design cycle, conception to production, for components or systems Experience in structural FEA using ANSYS, NASTRAN, or similar tools * Proficient in 3D CAD, utilizing Siemens NX Compensation: We provide a competitive pay and benefits package. This position is offering a salary rate of $70,720 however, Belcan considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to education, experience, geographic location, and discipline.
