Provides nursing services including: Physical exams, linkage to medication assisted treatment in collaboration with medical director, direct communication with medical providers, referrals to other provides and community health resources, general health instruction to clients, and instruction and in-servicing to counseling line staff including instruction on monitoring of self-administration of prescribed medication and withdrawal management. Ability to perform under circumstances of possible emotional stress and conflicts dealing with difficult, uncooperative, and potentially aggressive clients as VOALA serves the neediest of the needy in our programs which may include clients with homelessness, mental-illness, substance abuse, recently released from incarceration and other challenges.
