Position SummaryThe Structural Steel Welder is responsible for fitting, welding, and assembling structural steel components using flux-core welding processes in accordance with drawings, specifications, and safety standards. This position is essential in producing high-quality steel assemblies for EZARC's fabrication operations.Key Responsibilities<ul><li>Perform flux-core (FCAW) welding on structural steel per project drawings and weld symbols.</li><li>Read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and fabrication drawings accurately.</li><li>Fit, align, and secure parts using clamps, jigs, fixtures, and measuring tools.</li><li>Inspect completed welds for quality and conformance to specifications.</li><li>Safely operate overhead cranes, jib cranes, and forklifts to handle materials and assemblies.</li><li>Maintain welding equipment, tools, and workspace in clean, safe condition.</li><li>Follow all company safety policies and participate in required pre-task planning and safety meetings.</li><li>Work collaboratively with supervisors, fitters, and other team members to ensure quality and production goals are met.</li><li>Report any material defects, drawing discrepancies, or unsafe conditions to supervision immediately.</li></ul>Qualifications<ul><li>High school diploma or equivalent.</li><li>Minimum of 2 years' experience in flux-core welding of structural steel preferred.</li><li>Ability to certify a 3G test using 3/8 Plate and 1/16 wire.</li><li>Ability to read and interpret blueprints and welding symbols.</li><li>Certification to AWS D1.1 standards preferred.</li><li>Knowledge of safe rigging and material handling.</li><li>Strong attention to detail, quality, and safety.</li></ul>Physical Requirements<ul><li>Ability to stand, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs. for extended periods.</li><li>Comfortable working in a fabrication shop environment with varying temperatures and noise levels.</li><li>Shift Schedule: 4:30 PM to 2:30 AM; Paid Lunch; $1.50 Shift Differential</li></ul>
