Purpose: The Facilities Mechanics \u2013 BMS Technicians assumes responsibility for routine, preventive maintenance, emergency repairs and extra assigned tasks, such as fire and disaster plans, as directed by Director of Engineering and/or Engineering Supervisor on hospital equipment including but not limited to, all heating equipment, boilers, steam distribution, hot water heaters, pumps, cooling towers, medical vacuum, medical air compressor systems, medical gas tank room, and all controls and other duties pertinent to the operation of the aforementioned equipment and climate control within the facility. Performs routine analyzing of troubles from verbal or written reports of malfunctioning equipment operations to determine cause of the malfunction and necessary repairs required to restore equipment to manufacturers specifications within one hour or request assistance from Engineering Supervisor.
