The department features six emergency rooms open 24/7, including one dedicated trauma room, a three-bay triage area, and two observation beds, along with on-site imaging services such as CT, ultrasound, fixed and portable X-ray, as well as laboratory and pharmacy support to ensure comprehensive patient care. This freestanding ED treats patients of all ages, from minor injuries to critical conditions such as heart attacks and strokes, with care delivered by board-certified emergency medicine physicians and the full support of Atrium Health's Carolinas Medical Center, the region's only Level I trauma center.
