Performs specialized procedures, including suturing/stapling of major lacerations, wound debridement, blood draws, designated IV starts, central venous line placement, arterial line placement, venous cut downs, foley catheter insertion +/- bladder irrigation, as well as other specific procedures in the Emergency Department and on the inpatient units, with the approved delineation of privileges. Job Description Essential Responsibilities: Performs comprehensive focused history & physical exams on surgical patients admitted through the ED & those held for Observation, initiates appropriate lab, radiology & other tests required for evaluation of illness, and scrutinizes data on patients and hospital admissions to establish a record of the patient's health status & to develop a diagnosis & treatment plan, with direct review by an MD.
