Working closely with Facilities Services to ensure that all construction and fire prevention related permits are filed in a timely manner with the local fire safety authorities including but not limited to hot work permits, smoke detector bagging permits, NFPA 241 affidavits, special event and assembly area permits, temporary dumpster placements, food trucks, portable generators, fuel storage, and tents. Assisting University personnel with understanding of requirements for the effective use of related plans, procedures, guidelines, Federal, State and local requirements and consensus codes; Inspecting facilities to identify any potential hazards needing correction, including occupancy loads, building egress paths and patterns, life safety equipment access and impairments, emergency signage, and unique hazards present in research laboratories, administrative, academic and residence-style buildings.
