Essential functions include assisting in supervision of activities in an aquatic environment, developing, evaluating and leading programs and activities in an aquatic facility, providing customer service and handling of funds, supervising part-time and temporary employees, assisting with monitoring the assigned center's budget, contracts and compliance, developing and coordinating a wide range of recreation and leisure programs, assisting with development of, maintenance repair of equipment and inventory needs, partnering with community leaders to ensure quality programs within the community, securing instructors and/or volunteers for programs, advertising programs via various mediums, assisting with department events, approving program proposals, completing monthly safety checklists, communicating effectively with school site administration if located at a satellite site, ensuring safety of participants/spectators and administering first aid when necessary, collecting fees and taking registrations for recreational programs and facility rentals, handling inquiries and complaints from public, and may serve as the manager on duty.
